Ah. Peace. Although there had always been a fair spot in my heart for the high peaks of the Wolfrange and the surrounding area, not to mention my small grass hillock with the ever-growing Oak tree, there was a special part of me that enjoyed flat ground. I was uncertain at first when I had made it to Andarin; after living upon flatland all my life, with forests and far stretches of field, it was a difference. I loved the change, and the vantage points those mountains provided- but I missed forest.
The area of Desreal was a calming, tranquil sort of place, with the thrilling of birds i nthe distance. Up above me a alrge raven set up its raucous call as I strolled beneath him, disturbing his roosting. I looked up at him apologetically, and though the creature couldn't fully understand me, my simple glance told him I did not mean for intrusion. The bird settled down, albeit haughtily, and fluttered its wings at me a final time.
The sun hardly showed through the canopy of the leaves and needles above, considering the overcast conditions that gave the great ball of fire little chance to shine. It was a fine day, one for being at peace, in quiet. With all the recent turn of events and such, many things going amiss, it was a relief to get out of the bustle.
As my black hoof touched the forest floor, I hit a rock, and watched as it skittered forwards a while. As I raised my head, watching it bounce away, my black eyes flicked up abruptly to see a gray form making her way through the woods. I brought my crania high up, tensing my nape and tilting my head so my high crest stood up between my ears. My dark blue roan frame came to a halt, and I witnessed her flowing movement for but a few seconds before I cleared my throat louder than usual. Obviously I was just trying to get her attention so perhaps we could talk- and it saved walking up to her and making her bolt in terror or something. My gray face shook as I tossed my dark mane from my eyes, and then my black pools refastened to her.
Deciding I had given her valid time to notice my presence, I walked up calmly, and sniffed curiously as I drew near. Softening my gaze upon her, I came to stand beside her, looking up and at all the many plants and trees around here. Being i nthis area filled me to the brim, and without hesitation I exhaled, simultaneously flitering the floor with flowers of all colours. It was in a limited proximity around the two of us, but it was wide enough to be beautiful.
Sighing contentedly, I murmured in a deep voice, "Earth. Nature. They are what draws me to this world. They keep me here."
