“An apprentice!” She repeated with surprise. Delilah was not all to familiar with the class that she no doubt should have originally chosen, and the word reminded her of the magical tales and enchanting fables that she had listened wonderingly to, as a very young girl. “Apprentice.” She said again mingling determination and satisfaction leaking through her tone. “Wow Kemush, I really like the sound of that.” Delilah smiled, lifting her eyes generously again to smother her friend with an affectionate gaze. The touch of his nudge caused her sensitive skin to flinch as though brushed by a fly, but beneath, the nerves reeled and danced covetously. “I think you would make a fine teacher.” She added still more enthusiastically, but it was more an impulsive reply; a reaction to the adrenaline flooding her brain.
“I AM bronze!” She declared triumphantly, bouncing in the spot before him. It was only a recent event, and even now she wondered whether her second win was naught but a fluke. After all the fights she had stepped into by now, she felt as though her skills were hardly growing- she felt stunted almost, and as though for some reason, she was unable to learn such arts. Never the less, she was strong enough to fight the pressure of such failure and for now was simply thrilled to bath in her victory. And when he told her he could feel her element, she wondered if there was any other stirring feeling- similar to what she knew in herself, was more than lightning.
“Viperus was my first opponent in Blitzkrieg; he was my first teacher and the first to give me hope. He chose lightning, and from that first instance I craved to be just like him.” She giggled scornfully at herself, but it wasn’t loud. “Anyway, I figured it would best help me against my opponents as it has worked so comprehensively against me.” She paused thoughtfully and narrowed her eyes before adding. “I would say because of both my fear and respect for the element.” Delilah did love her choice. It was unique to all of the others- something Delilah could relate.
