Dear good, honest and God fearing folk, one and all:
Obama's cancellation of the "missile defense systems" in Poland and the Czech Republic was
a Home Run hit. I heartily applaud his decision. No purpose exists whatsoever in building these facilities
other than to support the Military Industrial Complex and provide great wealth to shareholders
of defense industry companies. By moving the action to the Navy we save a bunch of money
and provide a level of deterrence sufficient to keep Russia, N. Korea or Rhode Island from thinking
we're a pushover. At the very least you have to agree that a ship is a moving target vs the proposed
landlocked "sitting duck" version of these proposed installations.
Remember Teddy Roosevelt's defense ? "Walk softly but carry a big stick". Sounds good to me.
I'm not an Obama enthusiast by any means but his "military" or " Defense" decisions to date
only magnify the idiocy of the recent Bush/Cheney regime, and several prior regimes.
The last war we fought that was justifiable and reasonable was WWII. Since then, Korea (my war),
Viet Nam ,my get even war(Iworked for a contractor and made a shit load of money), Bosnia,
Somalia, Iraq, Afghanistan and probably two or three I left out , were ALL bullshit wars who's only
purpose was to enrich the defense manufacturer stockholder AND to lie to the public by creating
one crisis after another which were fraudulent to their core and kept us paying taxes, singing
patriotic songs and honoring the dead "hero's" returning home in coffins.
Obama can prove his worth to me by shutting down the military occupation/offensive efforts in
Iraq and Afghanistan and bringing these troops home. TOMORROW.
He could then tell the world, "keep on truckin' baby, but don't #### with me".
This is Dick Park in Houston who is sick and tired of "career politicians" running our country
in such a manner so as to assure their re-election, super medical coverage, outrageous and decadent
retirement benefits and recently, showing us an attitude that says....essentially..."#### you,
we'll do what we want when we want and please keep your damned mouth shut at our townhall meetings".
