Bob Young does appear in the media guide saying he played center in '62, but he isn't in the team photo in the '63 La Torre yearbook.
Maybe he played on the '62 Frosh/JV team with former UCLA coach Terry Donahue? Their team photo is uncaptioned.
Young's photo does appear in the '64 yearbook as a resident of Moulder Hall, 2nd Floor East, (back row) on page 316.
I took off on a 2nd trip to the Mardi Gras in '64 after the Army declared me 4-F, so I probably missed hearing them play. Legendary Olympic boxing and soccer coach Julie Menendez also taught at Young's Tulare High School before coming to Sparta. Thanks for posting this.
