This is to whomever is willing to read what could be coming:
Hmmmm. At the government’s option, the government can decide that the doctors can not try to restart your heart in the event of a heart attack, can deny hydration, antibiotics, etc. From below: “may…. Limit… all or specified interventions”, “may… limit…. ii. the individual’s desire regarding transfer to a hospital”.
I guess if you are old, you better buy the equipment to jump start your heart (paddles and all) on the black market and keep it at home and train your family to use it on you; because the doctors may be required by some bureaucrat hundreds or thousands of miles away that you are too old to get treatment for your heart attack. Brings a whole new meaning to home health care.
Following is just one item cut and pasted from the Health Care Bill.
From page 430 of the proposed Health Care Bill
11 ‘‘(B) The level of treatment indicated under subpara
12 graph (A)(ii) may range from an indication for full treat
13 ment to an indication to limit some or all or specified
14 interventions. Such indicated levels of treatment may in
15 clude indications respecting, among other items—
16 ‘‘(i) the intensity of medical intervention if the
17 patient is pulse less, apneic, or has serious cardiac
18 or pulmonary problems;
19 ‘‘(ii) the individual’s desire regarding transfer
20 to a hospital or remaining at the current care set
21 ting; 22 ‘‘(iii) the use of antibiotics; and
23 (iv) the use of artificially administered nutri
24 tion and hydration.’’.
