This story from Bud Day fits very well with Brandenburg's "Dawn of Darkness"...
Bud Day was a classmate of mine in AF Flight Training (Class 51F). Although we attended different schools leading to graduation, I have had occasion to talk to him at several of the reunions. He is the most unassuming guy a person could ever meet. Really down to earth. This might give one a more clearly defined definition of what is involved when REAL torture takes place.

Apparently this is a communiqué between Bud Day and a friend and the friend has not only passed this to Sean Hannity, but to the whole world. God bless men like Bud Day. Our "Make Believe" president isn't man enough to even lick Colonel Day's boots!
President Obama: This is the Real Definition of Torture
Colonel Bud Day, Medal of Honor
"I didn't expect to be reminded of my treatment some 36 years ago on this Memorial Day weekend, but our politicians find it worthy to ignore what some have tried to recount to them, who have actually been there."
*************************************************************
I was shot down over North Vietnam in 1967, a squadron commander at the time.
After I was released and returned in 1973, I published 2 books that dealt with "real torture" in Hanoi. Our ‘Make Believe’ president is now branding our country as a bunch of torturers when he literally has no idea what real torture is.
As for me, I was put thru a mock execution because I would not respond, and pistol whipped on the head during the same session. A couple of days later, I was hung by my feet all day.
I later escaped but got recaptured a couple of weeks later, and was shot during the recaptured. Getting shot was OK and understandable, but what happened after was not.
They marched me to Vinh. There they put me in the “rope trick,” which almost pulled my arms out of their sockets. I was beaten on the head with a little wooden rod until my eyes were swelled shut, and my un-shot, unbroken hand resembled pulp.
The next day they hung me by the arms again and re-broke my right wrist...and in the process, wiped out the nerves in my arms that control the hands and rolled my fingers up into a ball. That only left the slightest movement of my left forefinger. So I started answering their questions with some incredible lies.
I was then they sent me to Hanoi strapped to a barrel of gas in the back of a truck. In Hanoi, I was forced onto my knees and the “rope” trick applied again. After being hung up, I was beaten by a big fool of a man.
Placed into leg irons on a bed in Heartbreak Hotel.
Much kneeling--hands up at the Zoo.
More really bad beating for refusing to condemn Lyndon Johnson.
Several more kneeling events. I could see my knee bone thru kneeling holes.
There was an escape from the annex to the Zoo. Since I was the Senior Officer of a large building, because of escape, they started a mass torture of all commanders, including me.
I think it was July 7, 1969 when they started beating me with a car fan belt. In the first 2 days I took over 300 strokes, but then stopped counting because because I never thought I would live thru it.
They continued day-night torture to get me to confess to a non-existent part in the escape. This went on for at least 3 days. On my knees, I was again fan belted, during which my scrotum was cut open with one of the fan belt strokes. This also opened up both knee holes again. And my fanny looked like hamburger. After this, I could not lie on my back.
They did finally tortured me into admitting that I was in on the escape, and that my 2 room-mates knew about it.
The next day I denied the lie. So they commenced torturing me again with 3- 6- or 9 fan belt strokes every day from about July 11th or12th ..to the 14th in October 1969. I continued to refuse to lie about my roommates again.
Now, the point of these “remembrances ” are that our “Make-Believe” president has declared to the world that we Americans are a bunch of torturers. So now he has set the stage that it will be OK to torture any American next time when they catch one of us.....because that is what the we do. [And their definition of torture will not be his!]
Our “Make-Believe” president is a “know nothing fool” who thinks that pouring a little water on some one's face, or hanging a pair of women's panties over an Arab’s head is TORTURE. For such idiotic rational, he is nothing more than a meathead.
I just talked to MOH holder Leo Thorsness who was also in my squadron in jail .... as was John McCain .... and we agree that McCain does not speak for the POW group when he claims that Al Gharib was torture .. or that "water boarding" is torture.
Our “Make-Believe” president and those fools around him who keep bad mouthing our great country are a total disgrace to the United States of America.
Please pass this info on to Sean Hannity. He is free to use it to point out the stupidity of the claims that water boarding ...which has no after effect... is torture. If it got the Arab to cough up the story about how he planned the attack on the twin towers in NYC ... hurrah for the guy who poured the water.
