For those of you who might not know Joe and Jo, Jodie Gibbons was an early resident of the "Lions Den" at 380 South 11th Street before the Kappa Kappa Gamma sorority built their new house—now the International House.
Jodie transferred from the University of Denver in the early sixties after they dropped football. He and another SAE, the late United pilot Mike "Moon" Melin (who transferred from Colorado State), shared a room at the Lions Den, much to the chagrin of their Spartan football coach Bob Titchenal.
Jodie and "Moon's" photos appear on page 10, 11 and 16 of the July 2008 (#30) SJS Rat Line.
So go ahead and drop a card to his son Jake, even though he played for the hated Cal Bears.
