Paul, You might check with Cal Alumni to see where they gather before a game at the Coliseum.
In previous games we just picked out a spot on the lawn for our keg near the fenced parking lot on the west end of the Coliseum. Previously President Caret hosted a pre-game tailgate (no-host bar) in a room at the only hotel across from the campus. (East side). I can't remember the name, but we stayed there in the last decade.
