To be honest Mike, i dont know,but it would seem to be an internal Ofcom arrangement, but to be fair the Geneva plan set up fifty years ago is well out of date,and should have been updated years ago,and it looks like that even 1989 was well suppased with no change to the band plan. There has been a lot of abuse to the band with stations not on there allocated freq,but now that there are so few stations on MW today, i doubt if it would make any difference. Ofcom above as of my statement, would like to have some new kind of band plan for the UK,as the ITU in Geneva do not seem to have much interest in the band,and Ofcom seem to want to create some new interest, with perhaps some new stations.Rgds Mike
