I would say as far as 'Joe Public' is concerned, the answer is yes. 'Pop Music' stations today are used mainly as background 'wallpaper' in the kitchen etc. So familiar tracks suit this 'wallpaper' type listening much better. I expect the 'Borgs' have researched into this very well, and that's why they do it. It works. 'Obscure' material is a sure way to lose the 'Joe Public' listeners, who will say the content is 'dire'. The station MUST also carry regular up to date News and the main sports and weather reports, David LW
