MW is pretty useless for anything, other than broadcasting, so OFCOM will very likely be co-operative with any financially sound applicant.
The sooner the better, before MW radios, are no longer used in the car or home. The latter is more difficult now, thanks to interference from BB internet. A decent car radio, installed correctly, is far more sensitive than any home or portable radio can be, sadly dependent on it's internal ferrite rod aerial.
STX has proven that to me (& Caroline) in recent years, at no small risk to himself.
So, if MW continues to be used, it will very likely be by community stations not run for profit, rather than "Big business" who were only in it for the money - that has been proven now.
Perhaps Garry, would like to try for a MW licence for his Atlantis, for example? & give Caroline a bit of competition? OFCOM would be far more co-operative now spare frequencies are available......
