(around 27 degrees) so, if an aerial system was added to the mast, it Would be hard, to get it to work well at 648 Khz.
If sloping "capacity hat" or "Fold" wires were added, from the top of the Mast,
Right to Both ends of the ship, they would not be Long enough, to top load the short vertical enough at 648
The lowest in freq. that would work well, would be about 1000Khz (1Mhz)
Also as "#6" says, the Stay wires, that guy the Cross trees, have been installed without insulators
so the Plastic covered, metal wire used, could easily Spark Through its insulation, and cause crackles etc.
Also, using the Ross for 648 transmitter site, would waste Half of the coverage circle, over the sea, and not Land, where potential listeners live !
Plus the constant Diesel supply, as mentioned by #6
