On 192 meters or 1562 kHz, not a very good channel for longer distance during daylight. The TX was about 2.5 kW max in those days.
The problem was the weak transmitter and the lack of signal in the UK, so the Veronica management tried to get a powerful transmitter, the story goes thet the reperesentative who was sent out to aquire the new rig used the money he was given by himself, so the CNBC project failed (but had a tremendous effect on the Veronica programming and the presenters - becoming dj's).
The audio clip at the end of the Keith Skues story is running to fast, it is a copy of Paul Harris audio documentary "When pirates ruled the waves".
Only after Caroline appeared in 1964 Veronica increased power to 10 kW.
