I could write a whole book on what has been done with remote link, including what has been deliberately jammed...
Talking about deliberate jamming, I was amazed by what OFCOM asked me to do once.
I made an online report to OFCOM about interference to the top end of the 6 meter Amateur band, I explained that it was caused by a WBFM link used by a local pirate station. I told OFCOM that the link was just outside of the band and that if I keyed up my rig on the band edge that I could knock out the link to the main transmitter on the local tower block.
I was amazed when I got a phone call from someone at OFCOM asking if I would jam the link for them, I was told that they would turn a blind eye even if it meant that I had to transmit out of band.
At the behest of OFCOM, I put up a low power carrier on the band edge and left it running continuously. A few days later I noticed that the pirate had disappeared from Band II and also the aerial on the tower block was missing, when I switched off the carrier the link transmitter had also disappeared.
So it just goes to show you that even OFCOM encourage jamming when it suits them.
