Alf the 558Khz signal has to travel over London, so there must be a fair amount of loss there, where the 603Khz signal travels over the Thames estuary and then over flat land to Suffolk, Norfolk. As well as attenuation of the signal over Cities, Towns, as you say Alf radiation pattern plays a part as well,the reason why 558Khz is well received in the Midlands.Well you can go back to bed now, iam off to play with my loop now.Rgds Mike
