Yes Thanks STx, most of the signal on the ground wave travels over good conducting soil apart from as you say the Chilterns. I Read an experimental set up in the US on 600Khz, with 1kw, and the signal went 135 Miles before the signal was lost over good conducting land,so shall we say that in this situation a good signal should be received up to 80Miles,but of course this depends on a North South radiation pattern as well.
