It was cool because the owners never interfered with the jocks. They could pass on there love of there kind of music and you either liked it and listened or you didn't. Simple really.
I remember Hound Dog telling us he was free to play anything he felt was inside the format of the station which was mainly rock apart from a really bad presenter on at 12 til 2 called Sandy I think, who sang everything he spoke and laughed all the time like a demented Jack Nicholson "One flew over the Cuckoos nest" character!
Radio Caroline Spain had balls and was a pleasant change to the normal stuff. I think it would have been great.
