Garry, it sounds counter-intuitive at first but, in my opinion, the only way is to insist people register before they can post. If, for some reason, they insist on posting using a nickname, they can still do that, but you will know who they are.
Generally, only the troublesome posters will complain. Freedom is not being able to do what you want, it is being able to do what you want but never at the expense of others.
A board where you register allows this. Of course, the board owner must be fair, but I am sure that you are!
