Just today the extension of FM and AM licenses were discussed by Dutch parliament.
Obviously the major FM stations did make a good deal by accepting the DAB mandatory investments in exchange for a lonfer period on FM and lower costs, this is a win win situation for them.
When T-DAB will fail the can simply pull that plug which releases them from the extra costs....
Obviously nobody, except the Dutch Government, believes in T-DAB
But on top of that the Government insists on making the T-DAB investments also mandatory for the AM license holders.
Mind you, almost 50% of all AM frequencies is simply not on air, (including 1395)
how on earth can you propose extra incvestments. Lower costs to the Government hardly applies for the AM parties, so they will go down faster then they alraedy were doing.
When you cannot make the mandatory investmnets your license will be re-issued.
What a laugh, again 50% not on air.
Thank God the Government is still insane concerning radio-frequencies.
