Paul,
Isn't it obvious? They are trying their hardest to push DAB because once (if?!) it becomes a standard they can hike up the costs to radio stations and sell off the vacated frequencies.
Also it is difficult, although not impossible to pirate DAB.
Once again the culture of government greed outweighs the benefit to the listener.
The radio spectrum is not for sale, it belongs to us all!
