Gotta agree on the RTL overnight service - cool listening when driving along (i cant stand that Dutton buffoon on Radio 5). I used to be able to hear that during the day clearly but its a lot weaker now - have thgey dropped power, anyone know? I see (OK< hear!) the BBC Radio 5 at Moorside Edge has apparently reduced power on 909. Its very flaky now when the co-channeller comes in.
I prefer radio 4 on Long Wave in the car as the compression is much more suited to easier listrening. With FM its got too wide a dynamic range and you need to listen harder. the Optimod at Droitwich is set just right, absolutely spot on (
) and I find it a very comfortable listen. RTE is good in parts too - lits just like BBC Radio 4, but with an accent and those cheesy commercials from the 80s!
(by an occasional LW listener)
