In 1973 the Beeb banned Dr Hook and the Medicine Show's "Cover of the Rolling Stone". They said that it was advertising the magazine!! I remember that the band were said to have recorded a spoof called The Cover of the Radio Times" but have never heard it. John's "Luck of the Irish" was the song played extensively by Caroline over Xmas 72/73. As with many Lennon songs it is thought provoking.
