When it started in Jume 82 it was a home brew rig with a home brew engineer!
In October they bought in a 5kw Continental rig from the states (never run at 5kw) and Robin Adcroft did the engineering. It sounded a hellova lt better then. A guy called Ian Hurrion (nice guy sadly passed away some years ago) was our on site engineer during that Xmas period. He was involved with the Gunfleet Tower project in late 1974.
The mod was ok (although probably not that loud ala Q 102 Dublin) when I was there but can't say for the rest of the time. Didn't have an optimod when I was there although I think they had one in later years
