COUNTRY Music Loses Dan Seals*
Dies Of Cancer At 61
*Yesterday (3/25) was another sad day for COUNTRY music with the passing
of **Dan Seals
for lymphoma. He was 61. *
*Seals* first gained fame as half of the duo *England Dan And John Ford
Coley* with Top 10-songs like */I'd Really Like to See You Tonight/* and
*/Nights Are Forever Without You/*.
Then, his solo COUNTRY career took off in 1985 with *11 #1's* in the
following 5-years.
Song's like *One Friend, Bop, Everything That Glitters (Is Not Gold),
Addicted, You Still Move Me, Three Time Loser, Big Wheels in the
Moonlight* and *Love on Arrival* all hit the top of the page. A duet
with *Marie Osmond, /Meet Me In Montana/* also hit the top of the charts.
Some of his lesser-known songs, like *My Old Yellow Car* and *God Must
Be A Cowboy* are a cult-classics true COUNTRY fans will always remember.
In June 2008, *AAC* reported that *Dan* was in the *M.D. Anderson Cancer
Center* in *Houston* and was scheduled to get a stem cell transplant in
an aggressive treatment regime for his non-Hodgkin's Lymphoma.
*AllAboutCountry* sends condolences to the musically inclined *Seals*
family, which includes *Jim Seals (of Seals & Crofts)*, songwriters
*Troy and Chuck Seals* and *Little Texas' Brady Seals*.
Funeral arrangements are pending.
