Two albums came to my attention recently and though not necessarily fiddle albums will please any fan of the instrument. Bad Bob is a fiddler and a vocalist and turns in some really great performances of both on the EHK release "Prairie Rose". Check out the four instrumentals;"Sweet Georgia Broan",Bob's own composition "Robyn's Waltz", "Red River Valley" and a really cracking version of "Somewhere Over The Rainbow".
Randy Thompson is a modern country artist with a new album on Jackpot titled "Further On". Randy is a great performer and on this album uses the fiddle of Rickie Simpkins on 3 cuts; a rocking version of "Ol' 97", "Rocksalt And Nails" and "Further On". In more than forty years in country music I have not come across better fiddling than this. So, rosin up your bow and learn a thing or three from these two superb fiddlers.
