Isra responds to Hypatia's name, and Amelia can understand interest in the queen. There are possibly very few things she would not do for Hypatia. She doesn't believe that either of the other kingdoms have the compassion in their leaders that Ni'Srilan has in Hypatia. Conversation is easy between Hypatia and Amelia. The grey mare enjoys the time she spends with the queen. Time with Hypatia is good time spent.
Amelia takes the mare's retort in stride, knowing that she deserves the biting tone that accompanies the words. She is glad for the kick to the words; too many as of late have treated her as fragile, and she misses the challenge of side-stepping words that are not entirely kind. Isra interests her, and she wants to spend more time with the mare, even if they are an unlikely pair.
"If the scholars become more active, I'm sure they'd enjoy some challenge. Pursuits become tedious after a while. I know my whole life won't be spent on pursuits. I'd rather do something useful for the whole, not just for myself." Oh, Amelia, you are so predictable, love. Always so predictable. "We lose too many - it needs to stop."
