There is kindness to the mare, and Amelia feels at ease. There is a hum to the soft voice, and the curl of Althea's lips causes Amelia is relax. Her muscles lose the tenseness that they held just moments before and she nods before taking steps to pass Althea to get to the water. Her hooves dig into the sand and her legs, now strong from pacing the desert during fits of boredom, push her towards the water. When she leans forward, neck out, and drinks from the cool water, she can feel her body relax even more, and her mind clears. She forgets to drink. A fool's mistake.
When she takes a few steps back and then spins to face Althea, Amelia smiles, happy to have drank and hydrated herself. She'll wait a while and drink again; her stomach feels full and she doesn't want to gorge herself to the point of sickness. The heat is still something I have not adjusted to. I enjoy my retreats to the Academy. It gives me some time away from all of this dryness. She takes a deep breath, and then closes her eyes for a moment. When she opens them again she shakes out her mane, so that it falls in loose chunks along her neck. I do like it here, don't misinterpret me that way- She almost adds please, but then decides against it. I just haven't found a way to adapt as well as some of the others. But this oasis does give a bit of release from the heat. I'm glad to have it.
She kicks out a hind hoof, gentle and slow, and stretches out the muscles that run down the long limb. Amelia tilts her head a bit, letting her mane fall away from her neck for a moment, before righting it again. The flick of her ears preoccupies her mind while she tries to figure out what she should ask. She doesn't want to ask a long list of questions; surely Althea would answer them all, but Amelia wasn't sure she wanted to put that pressure on the mare. So one question, for now, and then she'd drink again.
I'm just starting my work in the Academy, and I'm still not sure which Element I was to pursue. Do you have any
insight as to what kind of horses you find drawn to certain elements?

OOC: Gah! Okay, so Amelia is working on getting active. And she has a new teacher in the Academy who will hopefully post. And she's working on it! :( All of this is re: Althea Scholars Come Hither post. :O
and now she's stolen. :(((
