The morning came, its magnitude of light illuminating the entire earth. The light heated the sand. The crystaline sand bits flickered as the light bounced off of their smooth surfaces.
The blue sky hovered above the sand like a ocean, vast and clear. No clouds dotted the sky. It was clear, undoubtably true. Wouldn't it be nice if everyone was clear and undoubtably true like the sky?
Standing Ildri emmerged from her thoughts of last night and the wonderful experience she had had; though it had left her somewhat drained this morning. A cat stretch on her wobbly legs eased the tension within her muscles. A yawn escaped her maw.
Energy could still be found within er bodice but it was sparce and Ildri would need to conserve her reserve. So she just stood there mulling over her night and the days to come.
Her thoughts were: 'I don't know how to explain it..it was just so exuberating but at the same time it scared the living sh*t out of me.' The filly's eyes still searched the horizon, almost like a space rover looks for life on a distant planet; not really knowing what it sees but constantly pulling in information. 'I'll keep it to myself though. I don't know these horses yet and, and, well I don't know what they would say if they foung out. It will be my secret.' Still staring at the horizon blindly Ildri took only two steps forward. She did not know why she did but it happened.
No wind blew in her mane and the sun beat down on her back. Sweat fell to the sand to sizzle there on the rocks. She couldn't imagine what it would be like to actually work in this heat. Soon enough she would find out, soon enough.
