Sterling had not seen a pair arrive before. Of course he had seen Vipers going around in a pair enjoying a conversation. But two strangers he’s never met, and they seem to be extremely good acquaintances. Only because it is new does it confuse him, also because of the heat. It was not often Sterling was paying attention to his surroundings, whilst groaning about the weather and longing under a skimpy palm. But this afternoon he blinks through the moving sands to spot the couple. They are heading towards where Sterling was enjoying the shade. It was also one of the more central oasis in Ni’Srilan, so it shouldn’t really surprise him.
