I am beginning to wonder if anything will surprise me anymore. I stand halfheartedly beneath the shade of a palm, ears laying relaxed agsinst my poll, my eyelids half closed as I snooze in the dying heat. The one thing I can count on at this moment is that night will come soon, and it it relief from the sun. Though, to be honest, I am becoming used to it. The heat does not seem nearly as harsh, or overbearing. I do not feel so opressed, as I had in my first week. I remember vageuely my conversation with Sterling in that first week, and how entirely exhausted I had been. I had considered up and leaving the place, making the trek to find my old home. Or perhaps making the junge of Desreal my home, at least there the heat was moist. But with time, as I had been promised, I had begun to acclimatize. And the heat no longer seemed so unbearable, the days not so long. My coat had faded to a dull grey rather than the bluish colour it had been when the sun had not robbed it of its luster, and my neck seemed contantly coated in sweat. But even with all of that, I had begun to almost like the Desert. Especially now, as the promise of night comes and I feel the heat beginning to fade as I snooze beneath the palm. Perhaps, had I been more aware, I may have seen him coming.
He nearly bowls right into me, and it is only by the grace of god that my eyes flutter just moment before the collision. I barely see the flash of chestut as he makes for the collision, and insitinctively I lunge to the side, hoping to miss him as he slams on the brakes. I laugh, a wry grin faded on my still half asleep expression. I blink, waking my eyes to the daylight once again. "Er...hello." I offer, dazed. "I moved, but the palm almost got ya." A goodhearted chuckle. "I'm Indira. And yes, new, for the most part." The sleep is nearly cleared from my eyes, revealing them to be rather soft in nature. I watch him curiously. "The oasis? Uh..Sure." Now that I think of it, my mouth is pretty dry. "Lead the way!" Well this is all very sudden, not two seconds ago I was snoozing rather contentedly. And then within a matetr of moments I am almost creamed, and then asked out for a drink. "It's a date." I wink, nudging Maxmus playfully.
