for even to think wrongly

Of course, Hypatia is always scary when she meets newcomers. And Kail doesn’t make that picture any easier. So she holds herself as calm and patient, with an air that her fire is welcoming, not burning. Her eyes are like warm fires at home, and her voice is sweet. Hypatia may look imposing, but she is not beautiful. And she tries not to look weary – she never sleeps anymore.
“Kail, my lion, he won’t hurt you.” Hypatia makes sure to say this as Isra’s looking rather cautiously at Kail’s teeth. So, Hypatia kneels and lets Kail climb upon her back. You are so heavy! Get off! She screams at him mentally a moment later. You’re just weak. He says and leaps off. “He’s really…uh…charming.” Perhaps that will make Isra a little more at ease.
Of course, she’s a spy. Severus hated scholars, especially Oracles, especially her; Lebanon didn’t like it much at first either. It’s just something everyone gets used to. But Isra’s right. It’s not fair. Hypatia takes everyone’s trust, whether or not they want to give it to her. It makes her people loyal to her though – because she can destroy them easily.
“I’m Hypatia.” Should she tell the girl she’s Queen? No. That’ll only make matters worse. “I know it’s not very fair, Isra, that I can do that.” And she can take more than that. She can take any information, whether or not your thinking it, if she wants. “Not everyone can do it. Only Seers and Oracles, and there aren’t too many of us. I’m the only one here.” It was really quite boring for Hypatia’s mental state.
“I should have to earn your trust too. Just as I will have to earn yours.”
Hypatia stops and watches the mare for a moment, letting silence pass between them.
“Come. You must be thirsty. There’s an oasis this way.”
