Ni'Srilan: The Desert: watch as your heart speeds up endlessly [ anansi ]

I was comfortable, in the warmth next to my Spider. Next to him, alone, everything else faded.. like some stupid cute storybook, a cheap romance novel. I forgot all my other cares, my other worries. Here, I had nothing to be ashamed of. For whatever reason, Anansi liked me.. or seemed to. It suddenly didn't matter that he and I were both male, or that he was younger (really, it wasn't by much..).

Here, I was coy, but I was unafraid. The awkwardness I'd felt before was gone, nearly forgotten. It didn't matter, not when I felt like this. Vaguely, if I had actually paused to consider it, being near Anansi felt much like being near Lilium, so long ago. When the world was right, when I was alive. When I could do more than breathe Anansi in. This was a dangerous game.

It wasn't that I was a virgin. Although, I guess, I was.. when it came to boys. I hadn't considered it - I wouldn't. It wasn't really the biggest concern I had.

On the other hand, that I was dead... How could I have sex with Anansi if I was dead? I couldn't. I would lose him - because I had nothing to offer him but my company.

My lightning vibrated inside of me, hissing, crackling. Awake, it tickled my nerves, tracing trails across my skin. Fear and pain jetted through me, sadness and loss. Luckily, everything took a back burner when I was actually near my Spider.

Then she'll leave. I did what I could. I breathed, sipping Anansi's scent like a fine wine. You make me happy.

Lightly, I shifted my weight, watched the sand. No ocean here, and somehow I found that relieving. I wasn't meant for water, even if I was a fish. And there was a storm here, even if it didn't play in the sky. It played in my body, and in Anansi's, now.
