Her hooves may dance upon its edge, but she does not slip into its depths as so many Solirans may or Water elementals. She fears the ocean, reveres it as the great water mother and respects its supreme power. Huyana is more of a fresh water sort of girl, for no raging rapids of a moving river daunt her, and waterfalls are only the best showers invented. But the rain, oh the rain captivates her like no other. She would waltz in the falling rain for eternity if she had the option.

”Canton?” Her watery voice echoed softly, her tongue molding the word perfectly after he spoke it. Her ‘brow knit for a moment as she thought, and then her guarded eyes became warm and bright as they flicked to him. It was not often Huyana remained anything but the friendly and inquisitive creature she was. ”So you are not from here then?” There was an abundant glee at her finding this news. It was evident in her tone as it lifted and became airy, more giddy. ”I am not from here either, rather new actually. It has been a difficult…shift.” She admitted with a haphazard expression, though she moved easily away from this confession. It was not like her to show any weakness on her part. ”Where is Canton, what was it like?”
Huyana’s recent ascension to Apprentice and the gain of a stronger water element had flooded her with new sensations. The water settled in easily, feeling only more alive and stronger within her. The new technique that came with her new level of profession, however, was alarming when it first occurred. She could hear his thoughts like whispered words in her head, and for a moment she puzzled and wheeled over the mass of strange information he was giving. The image of the desert, so unique and beautiful she could see it too, transfixed her. She pushed it aside hurriedly though, startled by the pure invasion this new trait allowed her. She’s been so appalled by it when used upon her, though so eager to get it and wield it upon this world, that she was uncertain of her own feelings. It was a useful and at times important function, and she knew she would not lock it away forever. Although it took some of the mystery out of things, and she instantly regretted the new ease that came with learning something about someone. The struggle was half the fun. And then of course, she coveted her own thoughts and her own mind as a dragon its jewels, would she be so cruel as to break apart the defenses of other’s so easily? She was not inherently cruel, but her mind was twisted, her actions self-gaining usually. It was a rare thing that she would sacrifice herself, and the last time she had didn’t end will – her heart ripped open another hole as she thought of him. She shook her head, a weak smile finding her lips.
”You think the desert is beautiful. It’s unique, the way you see it, I can understand it a bit better now.” Would he have any idea what she was meaning? Would he be horrified, startled, guarded now? It was the same as when Kemush met her in Solira, picking up on her thoughts of her previous home. He asked her about it though she’d never mentioned it, and it had sent her reeling into shock and scrambling behind useless walls. He’d been so apologetic she thought he might melt in front of her. Would déjà vu attack her now, in different roles?
