The approach of another was barely heard before his voice broke her musings. Startled, though she tried to hide it and should not have been surprised at all being in a stranger's land and all, her head snapped around. Amber eyes, warm and friendly despite the sharp edge glistening in them now, fixated upon his own depth-less irises. The storm painted flesh of the roan mare seized atop her coiled muscles, lips puckering out as though ready to unleash a torrent of speech at any moment.
But she stilled herself, calmed the roiling sea beneath the heavy skies. She was not prone to reacting before considering its consequences or better options. Her wild flight here to escape Solira's disorienting mist had not been rational, even if it was helpful, but she would rectify her previous mistake and be sure to tread better on the off-course track she had laid. The sweat from the madness enveloping her previously threw darker lines across her silver coat, the creases and folds of her muscles collecting the majority of the salty shadows.
"Oh?" She replied as though a curious child just instructed on something fascinating. A smirk soon defiled the awed innocence. "You're right, I totally discounted the scorpions and the crickets, I guess then I should have through about all the bacteria and invisible things running rampant in this thriving vacation spot. It's simply teeming." She gave a short, jingling laugh as their mutual joke winded to a close. She had not been mocking... not entirely. Merely agreeing, understanding what he was implying. "I'm not sure I would ever get used to it." Her voice murmured out with the whisper of falling rain, the soft flick of her black cords across her rump seeming deafening in the wake of her lyrics.
She nodded her head to his question. "Correct. I came from Solira... for a visit. It's good to know the other herds." Her smile fit onto her lips well. It was not false or weak, neither overbearing or excessive. She was friendly, welcoming if defensive and guarded. The kingdoms always seemed to be a mixture of allies and enemies, and though her loyalties would remain forever with Solira, she was a far cry from declaring any non-soliran a foe. "I am Huyana, a scholar of the sea." She did not ask for his name, it was his to give.
