I've been outing him when he starts really hopping around. I do worry about the thrashing, but also about him taking a landing hard- he comes off the ground with all four feet. He can really jump. He's already slipped on his back legs once.
I also wonder how a decoy would deal with that- what if he did go at someone's face? I would hate for that to happen, and I think it easily could. Once when he lost the toy and it snapped over my head he launched himself up and caught it with his front feet on my shoulder- going for the toy, not me, but you see the issue. Also, any ideas about how to encourage him to keep his feet on the ground?
Sorry for the barrage, I just don't know this stuff, and he has SO MUCH ENERGY. It's not enough for him to tug, he has to tug while flying through the air. He doesn't just run around the ring, he wants to leap around the ring. And exercise just gives him more endurance! He's a juggernaut. I need to be able to let him use it in a way that is safe.
