Many dogs who are bitework trained develop a neck issue. I would guess it is from slamming into helper/decoys. Cameo has this problem. Those that know her know that she is a very serious hitting girl. The ONLY time this bothers her is if she is allowed to shake and thrash.
If it were my dog I would try to discourage it. Health is so important. And a dog with a bad neck can be easily hurt. No one wants that for their friend.
I look forward to seeing what others say though.
