There may be some creeps in this breed, but I have met several really good people, like Rick, Alyeesa, Sherri and Alissa. (Am I spelling the "A" girls names right?) As long as good people stick together, there will be a positive impact on this breed.
Rick's friend adopted these two Boerboel boys. They were not in good shape, especially Junior, and I was so grateful to know that he was taking him. The dog desperately needed him.
From what I've heard, it seems he has helped the dog quite a bit - got him out of the crate he was living in, fed him (the dog was painfully skinny), exercised him (the dog had no idea where his body was / completely uncoordinated, shy and skittish), socialized and made him feel at home and loved with his family. Now that he feels better, I guess he's showing some dog aggression and needs to be an only dog. I have total faith that he will be placed in the best home. What a kind man to have helped this dog, who was in such miserable shape, and to now be willing to let him go to the next phase of his life.
The work that Rick did to rally his friends and find homes for these poor dogs is a real inspiration. That is one mark of a really good breeder - someone who helps dogs in need, no matter who they belong to.
