I "adopted" Jimmy while he was on his first board outside his homeground. I thooght he was humorous and a breath of fresh air on a stagnant board. His humor and bravado was misunderstood. I went to bat for him both publically and privately with the administrator who was caving in to clamors from the ranks. Within the space of five minutes it went from the administator listening to me and alternately cursing me when I couldn't get to Jimmy in time before he started a rant elsewhere. I was banned for that defense but never looked back. He'd kept me on my toes but it was never a dull ride and in spite of disagreements, the friendship stood firm.
