I think one of my messages did not register - sorry for the confusion. I am in the lake area of Italy. Unfortunately this area is one of the few in the world where heartworm is endemic. You can regularly eliminate the micro heartworm but the adult worms that have already penetrated the heart will just keep on breeding and the heart will deteriorate.
