Sorry to read your message. It is very difficult to advise because separation anxiety in dogs is something that needs to be observed and diagnosed. It is a huge shame that this dog, who is so good with children, is being considered for euthanasia. To address the Separation anxiety will call for calm, consistent handling over a period of time.
Just a thought - if your daughter wants to rehome the dog, the local vets might know of people looking for a child-friendly pet, or failing that, the Dogs Trust do not put dogs to sleep for any but medical reasons.
