Hi Mickey,
What Imogen has been saying is correct, and remember your dog is always better at reading your body language than you are at reading theirs, so keep everyhting quite low key-- boring in fact so as to avoid getting them over excited as then you have no chance of getting them to listen!
There are going to be times when things go well and then not so well,( which is natural as neither of you are a machine) but progress will be made if you are consistent in your appraoch. Good luck!
