This could be a number of things, and I would not feel silly about going back to the vets' to report this-- they are there for the health and well being of your pet after all! Have you used anything new on the carpet to which he could be having some sort of allergic reaction? When he had his check did he also have his booster? If so it might possibly be an adverse reaction to the injection, so it would be important to get him back to the vet so that they can complete any necessary blood/other tests which might be necessary to check that possibility out.Has your dog got any other symptoms such as scratching, runny nose, runny eyes? These can all indicate some type of allergic response so it will be important to tell the vet about anything different you have noticed. You do not say what type of dog food your dog is on from the vet, but if you suspect your dog has a tendency to allergic reactions you might want to read up on hypoallergenic diets (www.burns-petnutrition.co.uk is one of many sources) or www.canine-health-concern.org.uk. which has lots of information on feeding natural diets and the possible role of vaccination related reactions. Hope that helps.

: What do you think? Our four year old Golden
: Retriever boy (neutered) has started rubbing
: his nose along the carpet, and scratching
: his nose with his front paws. He's been
: doing it since yesterday afternoon and
: sometimes in the night last night. I took
: him to the vet on Wednesday for his annual
: check and he was fine. He's fed the best
: food the vet sells, and he's up to date with
: Frontline and wormers. I can't imagine what
: is irritating him but feel a bit silly going
: back to the vet again.
