I would agree with Jo's point of view, it should be an individual decision, with training if ownership/guarding issues develop.Making a point of "inviting" the dog up on the sofa or bed means you are still the decision maker.We use a throw over the duvet cover to cut down on the grit, and wash all the bed linen at 60 degrees--- with all that you are probably safer sleeping with your dog, than you are with some humans! Enjoy!
