As Imogen says it is not an uncommon problem, and it does help if you can stay calm. Has he been attacked by another dog while on the lead? It is becuase he feels under threat (off the lead he can run away)that he is like this on the lead.Be alert when out walking to what is happening around you, so that you can take avoiding action if need be.Try getting your dog to concentrate on you and reward him for that as you pass other dogs-- this will distract him from focusing on them instead of you.Doreen www.bestfrienddoglistener.co.uk
