Well, I finally got the hub off the axle tube and the bearings were a mess. Anyway I got a bite from a welder today and he was asking me where the bearings are going to line up on the axle. After looking at Jeff's pics and his repaired axle, how close will the bearings be to the repaired weld??

I am not sure about an exact distance but the weld will be on the other side of the of the high part of the axle stub. In other words, nothing should be in a position to interfere with the weld. The bearing inner race rides on the axle hub which is pressed against the axle stub. The axle break is on the other side of this location. Jeff Camo Mammoth
