Ok I went and did it. Should have read all the post before trying it. I took the indicator switch apart because of the gears not changing read on the forum how to do it. One problem I did not mark it when I took it off and now can not get the gear light on the dash to read correctly. Does anyone have a pictures of the way it is suppose to go. I am not for sure if the wires coming out of it go in the back or towards the front. Thanks everyone

Back when I took mine apart to clean all the sand out of it I adjusted it to light up R for reverse then set the lever arm on the transmission squarely in reverse. Next I adjusted the cable under the dash so it all connected without pushing or pulling. After you put the switch back on it allows for some minor adjustment. I found that if you make sure the transmission clicks into gear properly in each position with the light operating accurately you've got it licked. It takes a little patience but it is not that hard to figure out. After doing mine several times I found that it was easiest starting with setting it in reverse gear and tweaking adjustments after that. I need a place to start there are 3 slots that the switch goes into if you put it into them the wires will be toward the back the other the wires are toward the front do you know which way your wires are facing. I have it with them towards the front know with nothing. In the back facing way the only light I get is the R when its in low tried to adjust this to be right no luck. Do I need to take the whole thing back off or just the link.

Thanks for the picture Max. In his picture the shifter is indeed in reverse. Also you can see that there is no more adjustment left for the switch in the clockwise rotation direction. The adjustment for the shift cable is under the hood. It is important to have the shift cable properly adjusted first. Then, in your hand, set the switch to light up "R" on the dash. Then you can slide the switch on the splined shaft before you put the shift arm and cable back on. You want to install the switch so that it can be adjustable in either direction, if necessary. My wires are facing the same direction as in Max's Picture. Jeff Camo Mammoth
