Well, after getting the clutches installed and having no problems I deceided to take the ol Mammoth out for a ride today. After cruising around I noticed the fan was not coming on, but the fan light was. I pulled into by brother-in-laws house and investigated. I found 2 wires that had been disconnected from the dash area under the hood. One was green one was black. There were no wires coming from the fan. I pulled the radiator and the electical fan assembly out. Somehow the wires coming out of the fan were gone. We took the cover off the fan and rewired it. After the rewire we tested the fan with a 12 volt battery. Worked great. Hooked everything back up went for a test run. Now the fan won't cycle @ all. Fan light does not come on, fan won't either. We again trouble shot by checking our wiring, fan works great when hooked up to 12 volts. We also checked all the fuses in the relay box, all is well. Where is the thermostat for the fan, and is that the missing link?? Thanks for yall's help. JL

I don't know either where is the fan sensor (someone will tell us) but I suggest you to check the fan relay, that's the first relay you will see when you open the hood (near the radiator, taped on the wiring harness) it's a small rectangular black box, it might be blow from the fan wire touching each other when they cut on the motor MAX MAX Sorry, if some time you don't understand what I'm talking about, I'M FRENCH... by the way, some time I don't understand what you say, it's probably because I'M FRENCH !!!

Already checked all the fuses in the black box.... I think I might check behind the dash today, I can't get over to his shop til later today.

He probably have the original one on stock, you may also find a replacement in an auto parts store near you (if you do find a replacement, please post the brand and model for other forum user) MAX MAX Sorry, if some time you don't understand what I'm talking about, I'M FRENCH... by the way, some time I don't understand what you say, it's probably because I'M FRENCH !!!

Any 30 amp relay will work. The schematic to connect the wires usually comes with the relay. It is not too difficult if you understand how relays work. I would not worry about replacing it with an exact Kazuma replacement. Jeff Camo Mammoth

I went to NAPA and got a generic 30 amp relay. I showed the guy @ NAPA the Kazuma relay, we opened it up and it was burnt/shorted. Turns out the Kazuma relay was only 10 amps.

That is good to know because I would guess that the fan would pull at least 22 to 25 amps on startup. Jeff Camo Mammoth

ya know, it seems that the fan runs stronger, I don't know, maybe its just cause its working now. Before the temp gauge always seemed to run on the warm side, but I know it was never working right form the factory. Since the new relay the temp gauge has yet to even make it halfway to hot.
