To 'enroll' in advanced training, simply start a new post requesting a teacher with ADVANCED in the subject line. If you do not get a reply within a couple days, post at the OOC board; depending on activity level, someone may just not have seen it.
This is character-to-character training, so all teachers must have an active Bronze or higher character in order to teach. You can get approval from Nat or Holly to teach with non-Warrior characters, as long as you play or played a horse with Bronze or above.
Lesson Plan: After a teacher has taken on a student, they will begin a mock battle, with two attacks and two defenses in each. How long the mock goes on is up to you and your teacher. Remember to strip your posts down to basics - these will not be judged. All commentary and feedback should be verbally communicated to the student DURING the mock. This time, however, the teacher will make up weather conditions prior to the fight and play as though they hold the element that is strong to the element of the student [so if the student is Water, the teacher will temporarily be the same level Lightning. If the student does not have an element, the student's element will be Fire II and the teacher's element will be Water II]. If the teacher holds any supers, they can choose to use it against the student, to teach them how to recover.
Students must take damage as normal but teachers do not have to. This is to benefit the student when they are fighting with an injury. Teachers are allowed to completely evade an attack if it was made too slowly or if it is too implausible. Teachers may also counter, if the student chooses a move that places them in harm's way, without it counting as one of their defenses. Teach them how to use their element in battle, even at a disadvantage. Even Level 1 can manipulate small pieces of their element - teach them when it is wise to do so, and what borders too much on powerplaying.
Make sure your student considers the consequences of their attacks in the current weather. Make sure they take heavier damage because they are elementally weaker. Again, same rules as basic training apply - a teacher may evade unwise or slow attacks and counter anything that puts the student at risk.
The more feedback the better. Tell your students why that attack is not a good idea and give them suggestions on how they could improve it. Make sure your students take proper damage and let them know if they take too much or too little, and always be supportive and never condescending.
This stage may also be repeated as many times with as many different teachers as they like, but you can only be a student to one teacher at a time, to one lesson at a time. You do not have to go in order, so if you want to start at Advanced, you are welcome to do so.
