I think Ariel should come swimming in sand :3 She'd have to anyway soon. Or swimming in mountains... sand is much more swimmable in.
A spirit, second rate and star-crossed, Deadly trades, what’s the cost? – name reference. In the little mermaid, Ursula refers to Ariel as a poor unfortunate soul whilst coercing her into trading her voice for legs. Spirit and soul generally can be clumped as the same thing. Second rate, meaning poor, and star-crossed being unfortunate.
Wonder at the mutant in the Hall – rank reference. Wonder = Marvel. There’s a Marvel comic called Acolytes, and there’s a character called Neophyte, which is a mutant, whose name is Simon Hall. Woowwww Mutant, Hall yay!
But it’s fine ‘cause if I sing to recall, - a prep for the next line, to aid in the fact it’s based off lyrics...
Even the cousin of the paddlefish and the ray (surprised with an urge to play) – my awesome herd ref. Although I replaced sturgeon with 'cousin of the paddlefish' because it was too easy to find other wise. Originally line in the song is “Even the sturgeon and the ray, get the urge to play” (that’s paraphrased :P) Paddlefish is a relative of a sturgeon. And the fact the line begins with “even the…” can be taken as surprise that obviously the grumpiest of the sea life enjoy to be under the seeeeeaaaaaa *sings and dance away* And I think I forgot to mention that it's from the song "Under The Sea" from The Little Mermaid, so you might as well take it was a name ref tooo :3
Are hole bearers from your friendly displays. – history ref. Ariel gave Huyana a shell as a sign of their friendship. “hole bearers” is what Foraminifera are also known as, and they have shells :3
