What is your drive? The unknown? The undefined? The promises? The future? I don't know.

[ Ill is insane; he has a need for destruction that is repeated in several of his posts that I've read. So what is his drive? As I understand it, it could be the unknown (he is a follower of a god of chaos), the occult (the undefined), the promises (he claims here that his insanity is a damnation of power - that he doesn't have yet, because...), the future (... he says in the same post that his plans aren't even in motion yet). ]

I don't think you do -- I don't think anyone does; mysterious ways, as they say. But you know their ways -

[ nobody can be said to know the will of the gods; yet Ill, in this little post here, mentions he follows the will of Angra Mainyu; he also mentions here that he knows the occult, thus, he knows their ways... ]

transplanted to a world you do not belong;

[ ... but here, he is rather surprised by Marshall's ability; therefore, while he knows the ways of the occult, he doesn't yet know (this post is old-ish, so he's probably used to this by now) to the ways of the elements. This impression of newness to a world he doesn't yet know is reinforced here. ]

in shadow and in sickness, in hunger and abandonment - what is your drive?

[ name ref: sickness -> Ill, obviously. The others (with exception of shadow, naturally, but shadow fits with the theme above) are things that often cause ill, naturally. ]
